About your subconscious mind and your unconscious behaviour
We all have a mind and although we may not be able to define it exactly, most of us have more or less an idea of what a mind is and that somehow our mind controls our life. However, what some people don’t realize is that we have three minds; a conscious mind, a superconscious mind, and a subconscious mind.
Our superconscious mind is that part of us that knows our purpose in life, why we are here. Different people give it different names, such as intuition, higher consciousness, or higher self.
Our conscious mind is that part of us that thinks, judges situations and makes plans and conscious decisions. It is creative and can come up with solutions to problems but unfortunately it is rather slow and it is only about 5% of our overall consciousness.
Just like submarine means under water, subconscious means “under-conscious”. So our subconscious mind is everything in our mind that is below the surface of our awareness. This is where our memories, emotions, beliefs, perceptions, patterns and habits are stored. It makes up about 95% of our overall consciousness, is about 1000.000 times faster than our conscious mind, and controls our body and our behaviour and therefore most of our life.
Now let’s have a look at the word unconscious. Just like unhappy means not happy, unconscious means not conscious, unaware. When we say a person is unconscious we mean that their conscious mind is not working, this happens for example when we are sleeping. What many people don’t realize is that even though they are awake and their conscious mind is working correctly, most of their behaviour is unconscious as it is controlled by the subconscious mind. So we are not aware of most of our behaviour!
Our subconscious mind controls 95% of our life. Is this good news or bad news?
I think it’s good news. Our subconscious mind keeps us alive and makes our life easy. It’s incredibly powerful and supports us every moment of our life. It allows us to digest our food, drive a car and have a conversation with a passenger at the same time without even having to think about it.
The only problem is that our subconscious mind basically repeats what it learned at some point and continues doing so even if this information is outdated or counterproductive. When we notice this is limiting us in living our full potential we can actually do something about it. We can teach our subconscious mind new and updated information. We can do this for example through repetition or hypnosis, or by using a form of energy psychology such as PSYCH-K®.
The subconscious mind is very adaptable and happily rewrites itself, but it doesn’t do this spontaneously. It needs the right method and the right information at the right moment. PSYCH-K® effectively, efficiently and lovingly aligns our three minds, superconscious, conscious and subconscious, creating an entire expanded consciousness which makes permanent change safe, quick and easy.
